Who we are

Children of Amal is a charity set up to provide a therapeutic music programme which is being used extremely successfully in war zones with badly traumatized children.

It has been introduced in to refugee camps in Palestine and has now expanded with trained social workers. Funding is much needed for this important project.

Since September 2000 over 1500 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli armed forces. Shootings, tear gas bombs, sound bombs and incursions by Israeli soldiers are common occurrences in the camps as are the curfews. Many children sleep under their bed because they think 'it is safer'. Children also suffer from nightmares and the many other symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
